Hello! My name is Judy
Smith. I am a trained Life Coach.
I became divorced ‘later in life’ - I was well into my 50’s –
and had been married to the same man for 37 years. Even though it
was my decision to end the marriage, my experience in the divorce
process was a very painful one. I knew I had to move on and
create a new life, but I had no idea how to do it.
My friends were extremely supportive, but they could hardly be
dispassionate about the advice they gave me. They were indeed my
source of strength, but I realized that I also needed another kind
of sounding board - one that could be objective. I didn’t know
where to find one like that.
I read self-help books and books about divorce; consulted my
lawyer; worked with a mental health professional – all contributed
to my ability to retain my sanity. What I also wanted, though,
was someone to help me make the ‘right moves’. I was so uncertain
about what to do. I woke up every morning in a state of anxiety.
Fast forward four years. I worked hard at moving on during the
years immediately following the divorce. I made lots of mistakes,
but kept pushing forward anyhow. I learned a lot in the process.
As a result, I can now look in the mirror and comfortably tell the
person I see there, “You sure have grown; you made it!”
I have become a confident, successful woman who looks forward to
every day. (My friends tell me I even look better!) I am so
passionate about the advantages of taking charge of your life
after divorce that I decided to focus my coaching practice on
helping people do that.
I have designed this website to offer guidance and support to
women like me who became divorced later in life.
One section of the website has
Articles I have written that
address challenges you are facing and practical solutions for
overcoming them. I add new articles regularly, so I hope you will
come back often to read them.
Another section of the website is saved for
Divorce Support
Questions and Answers. I make it a point to respond to every
question as quickly as I can. This page gives you the opportunity
to read questions from other women as well. Readers have told me
that it helps them to know they’re not alone in this endeavor.
Know, too, that whenever you share the progress you are making
here, I serve as your biggest cheerleader!
This website also has places where you can find out about my
Divorce Coaching Clubs. I think this information will be of great
interest to you.
And, if you would like to have tips on how to build a new life
after divorce delivered to you ‘directly’, be sure to sign up for
my Moving on After Divorce Newsletter.
As you take advantage of the resources offered on this website, I
think you will find that you are learning how to live happily ever
after – divorce. ….and that’s no fairy tale!
